Two Men Arrested in Fort McMurray Drug Bust

Fort McMurray…Two men have been arrested in an Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) drug trafficking investigation in Fort McMurray. More than $22,000 worth of cash and drugs was recovered.

 

ALERT’s Wood Buffalo Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), with the assistance of Wood Buffalo RCMP members, executed a search warrant at a Fort McMurray apartment on February 26th. Inside the suite police seized more than $12,000 worth of cocaine, more than $10,000 in cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and a replica handgun.

 

Ahmed Abduraham Abdualwasi, 23, and Ephraim Paulos Woldehawriat, 25, face multiple drug-related charges, including:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime;
  • Possession of a controlled substance;
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon;
  • Possession contrary to order.

Woldehawriat was also charged with resisting arrest.
