Edmonton… An Edmonton man has been arrested by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit for allegedly sexually assaulting two children.
Gerald Kenneth Steed was arrested on May 18, 2018. The 50-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted two young children that were known to the accused in two separate instances. Steed can be described as a family friend of the victims and was frequently used to babysit.
ICE is currently exploring the possibility of additional victims in Edmonton. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact local police or cybertip.ca.
Steed’s arrest came following a collaborative investigation between the ICE unit, the Edmonton Police Service, and the Zebra Child Protection Centre. Information about Steed’s alleged offences was first brought forward to police in early May.
The alleged offences date back well over a year and the victims are believed to have been sexually assaulted on a number of occasions.
