Three Arrested Following Medicine Hat Drug Seizure

Medicine Hat… ALERT and Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) arrested three people and seized nearly $35,000 in drugs and cash after a Medicine Hat home was searched.

ALERT Medicine Hat, an integrated team consisting of MHPS and RCMP members, concluded a one-month drug trafficking investigation on March 30. A search warrant was executed at a home located in the 700-block of 12 Street NW.

The following items were seized:

  • 27 grams of powder cocaine;
  • 85 grams of crack cocaine;
  • 59 grams of methamphetamine;
  • 40 grams of marijuana;
  • Prohibited brass knuckles;
  • $14,000 cash proceeds of crime.

 Donald Perini, 40, of Medicine Hat has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 4), possession of a controlled substance (x 3), possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of proceeds of crime, breach of recognizance (x 4). Perini was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 7.

Perini was previously arrested by ALERT MHPS for similar offences in May 2015.

Olivia Marshall, 25, of Medicine Hat has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 2), possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a prohibited weapon. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 29.

Graham Groeneveld, 57, of Lethbridge has been charged with possession of proceeds of crime and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 28.
