Edmonton… An Edmonton drug dealer, who used a popular online classifieds website to sell his product, has been arrested by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT).
On July 9, members of ALERT Edmonton with assistance from the Edmonton Police Service, arrested the alleged drug dealer and executed a search warrant at a Tamarack home in the southeast. The search yielded a wide variety of drugs worth an estimated $16,000 including hashish, marihuana, MDMA, cocaine, and prescription pills.
Investigators also uncovered evidence to suggest that the accused was using online classified ads to sell drugs. This is the first time ALERT has conducted an investigation based upon online drug sales.
Trevor Conrod, 33, is facing 17 drug-related charges including three counts of trafficking. He was released on bail and is due back in court on July 25th.
The investigation began last week and was initiated after receiving a tip from the public.
