One man charged after ALERT seizes cocaine, cash in Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray…ALERT’s Wood Buffalo Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) charged one man following a short-term drug trafficking investigation that led to the seizure of cocaine.

On May 9, CFSEU-Wood Buffalo, with help from the Wood Buffalo RCMP Drug Section, executed search warrants at a Riverstone Ridge apartment and on a vehicle. The team seized 170 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, along with a small amount of marihuana, drug trafficking paraphernalia, nearly $12,000 cash, and a 2008 Jeep Commander. The street value of the cocaine amounts to approximately $17,000.

As a result of this investigation, 66-year-old Fort McMurray resident David GRANT is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
