Nearly $63K in Cocaine, Cash Seized in Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray… An ALERT investigation in Fort McMurray has resulted in the seizure of nearly $63,000 worth of crack cocaine and cash. One man was arrested.

On June 18, 2020, ALERT’s Fort McMurray organized crime team executed a search warrant at a residence in the Parsons Creek subdivision and made the arrest in downtown Fort McMurray.

At the residence, investigators seized 449 grams of crack cocaine and more than $18,000 in cash proceeds of crime.

“This is a significant seizure for Fort McMurray,” said Insp. Sean Boser, ALERT Regional Teams. “ALERT is proud to work with its partner agencies to keep dangerous drugs like these off the streets of Alberta communities.”

Razwanullah Rahmani, 27, of Calgary has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 25, 2020.
