Nearly $50,000 worth of Drugs Seized

Medicine Hat… Nearly $50,000 worth of drugs were seized after search warrants were executed in Medicine Hat and Dunmore by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT).

   

ALERT’s Medicine Hat Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), an integrated team made up Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) and RCMP members, executed the two search warrants of April 26th to conclude a drug investigation.

   

In total, investigators seized 365 grams of cocaine, 1.1 kilograms of marihuana, and $1,700 cash. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $47,600. 

   

Matthew Hillier, 28, of Medicine Hat faces five drug charges, including:  

  • Possession of a controlled substance (x 2); 
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 2); 
  • Possession of proceeds of crime.
