Calgary… More than half a million dollars’ in drugs and cash was seized after two Calgary homes were searched. ALERT also seized five handguns.
ALERT Calgary’s organized crime team made the seizure on August 13, 2024. Two homes and a vehicle were searched with help from the Calgary Police Service and RCMP.
Five handguns were seized alongside large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine. It appears that one of the homes, located in the Beltline, was being used to process crack cocaine.
“There’s a clear risk to neighbourhoods when drugs and firearms are present. ALERT works collaboratively with our partners to undermine these complex organized crime thefts,” said Acting Staff Sergeant Shelby Stewart, ALERT.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $509,000 and included:
Of the firearms seized, one was previously reported as stolen and another had its serial number defaced. ALERT also seized a variety of ammunition, magazines, and suppressors.
The firearms will be submitted to the Provincial Firearms Solutions Lab to complete analysis, serial number restoration, and ballistics testing.

ALERT began its investigation in May 2024 after developing criminal intelligence on suspected drug dealers in the Calgary area.
