Four Calgary homes searched in drug investigation

Calgary… Four homes were searched in Calgary and ALERT seized methamphetamine, cocaine, cash, and a handgun. The estimated value of the drug seizure is $365,000.

On September 8, 2021, ALERT Calgary’s organized crime team and Calgary Police Service searched four homes and two vehicles, and two suspects were arrested.

In total, ALERT seized:

  • Stolen handgun and ammunition;
  • 4,407 grams of methamphetamine;
  • 325 grams of cocaine;
  • $11,645 cash

The handgun was previously reported stolen in Chestermere and a follow-up investigation will ensue.

“Our team is very effective at conducting bottom-up drug trafficking investigations – starting with a focus on street-level drug dealers and subsequently targeting the next rung up. ALERT’s dedicated approach has proven effective at dismantling drug networks across Alberta,” said Inspector Jason Bobrowich, ALERT Calgary.

Cody Dunn, 24, was charged with drug trafficking, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime.

Matthew Holczer, 29, was charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
