Four Arrested in Fort McMurray

Fort McMurray… Four people were arrested after ALERT intercepted a drug shipment destined for Fort McMurray. Approximately $75,000 worth of drugs were seized.

ALERT Fort McMurray’s organized crime and gang team made the drug seizure on October 8, 2020, with help from Wood Buffalo RCMP’s Integrated Traffic Unit.

Most of the drugs were seized from a vehicle travelling into Fort McMurray on Highway 63. Meanwhile, a downtown apartment was also searched where additional drugs were located.

“ALERT is intelligence-led, and in this case, we had information about drugs being transported into the community. We were able to make a quick arrest before these drugs hit the streets,” said Insp. Sean Boser, ALERT Regional teams.

The drug seizure included:

  • 278 grams of cocaine;
  • 4.1 kilograms of cannabis;
  • 40 cannabis vape pens; and
  • $2,150 cash.

Four people were arrested and face a total of 14 charges related to drug trafficking:

  • Olufetemi Victor Arogundade, a 24-year-old man from Fort McMurray;
  • Gregory Sinclair, a 25-year-old man from Edmonton;
  • Jordan Reid, a 24-year-old man from Fort McMurray; and
  • Tyana Kenny, a 21-year-old woman from Fort McMurray.
