Edmonton… A Fort McMurray man has been arrested by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation unit after attempting to arrange for sex with a 13-year-old girl.
On March 12, ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation unit arrested Pulenthirakumer Arulamapalan in west Edmonton. The 48-year-old man allegedly travelled from Fort McMurray in an attempt to meet an underage girl for sex.
Arulamapalan was arrested and charged with:
“ICE believes our intervention and arrest prevented a sexual assault,” said Staff Sergeant Mike Zaparyniuk. “This is another all-too real reminder for parents to take a proactive role in understanding who your children are engaging and talking with online.”
ICE began its investigation after receiving a tip from the public.
