Fort McMurray…Two men accused of trafficking cocaine in Fort McMurray have been arrested by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT). Cocaine and cash proceeds of crime were seized in the investigation.
On August 15th, ALERT’s team in Wood Buffalo and RCMP members executed two search warrants in the Timberlea area. Inside the homes, investigators seized nearly $40,000 worth of cocaine, nearly $30,000 in cash proceeds of crime, and evidence to support drug trafficking.
Chuol Both Chuol, a 19-year-old man from Edmonton, and Allen Bryson, a 43-year-old man from Fort McMurray were arrested without incident. Both men are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
The short term investigation was initiated in response to community concerns over drug activity in the area. Last year ALERT seized over $1 million worth of drugs in the Wood Buffalo region, and also laid more than 200 criminal charges against 58 people.
