Firearms, ammo, and body armour seized from Lethbridge drug dealers

Lethbridge… Four firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition was seized from alleged drug dealers operating in the Lethbridge area.

ALERT Lethbridge’s organized crime team has charged four suspected drug dealers after homes were searched on November 21, 2024. ALERT, along with the Lethbridge Police Service and the RCMP, searched homes in downtown Lethbridge, Raymond, and Coalhurst.

ALERT seized the following items:

• Four firearms;
• Thousands of rounds of ammunition;
• Body armour;
• 230 grams of cocaine;
• 1,228 grams of suspected cocaine buffing agent;
• 41 unknown pills;
• $1,500 cash.

One of the rifles seized was believed to have been converted to fully automatic. Two prohibited magazines were also seized. The firearms will be submitted to ALERT’s Provincial Firearms Lab for further analysis and ballistics testing.

“This is an extensive arsenal of prohibited and dangerous weapons to be in the hands of people involved in drug trafficking. This is an obvious threat to community safety and we’re glad to have these suspects in custody,” said Staff Sgt. Trevor Sheppard, ALERT Lethbridge.

The search warrants came as the result of a drug trafficking investigation that began in June 2024. ALERT had received information about suspected drug dealers who were also in possession of firearms.

Four people have been charged with a range of firearms and drug offences:

• Kira Davoren, 24 years old, was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
• Daud Mohamed, 37 years old, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of a weapon/ammunition for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a weapon/ammunition contrary to prohibition order.
• Jebediah Caswell, 36 years old, was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of body armour, and nine firearms offences.
• Randolph Langdale, 52 years old, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of ammunition for the purpose of trafficking, possession of an unauthorized firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
