Medicine Hat… A father and son were arrested by the ALERT Medicine Hat organized crime team during a recent drug trafficking investigation. More than $26,000 worth of drugs and cash were seized.
On April 10, 2019, with the assistance of Medicine Hat Police Service, ALERT investigators concluded the six-week investigation by arresting two people allegedly trafficking drugs in Medicine Hat.
In total, investigators seized:
Shane Hilmoe, 56, has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime (x2).
His son, Nathan Hilmoe, 23, has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance (x6) and possession of proceeds of crime.
“Identifying and dismantling drug trafficking groups in and around Medicine Hat is our team’s top priority,” said Staff Sgt. Cory Both, ALERT. “Localized networks such as this help organized crime as a whole thrive. We need to remain diligent in preventing these groups from growing and prospering.”
