Edmonton Search Warrants turn up Cocaine, Firearms

Edmonton… More than two and a half kilograms of cocaine were seized from a suspected Edmonton drug dealer by ALERT. An estimated $275,000 worth of drugs was seized along with two firearms.

ALERT Edmonton’s organized crime and gang team made the seizure following a short-term investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the area. On May 19, 2017 homes in Crestwood and Terra Losa were searched with the assistance of Edmonton Police Service.

The home in Terra Losa was operating as a crack cocaine production lab, where powder cocaine was being converted into crack. The suspect was arrested leaving the home with several packages of crack cocaine. Meanwhile the accused’s upscale Crestwood home was searched and ALERT seized two firearms.

The following items were seized:

  • SigSauer handgun with ammunition;
  • Rifle with ammunition;
  • 2.6 kilograms of cocaine;
  • 2.7 kilograms of a cocaine buffing agent;
  • 13 grams of heroin;
  • 47 grams of methamphetamine;
  • $660 cash proceeds of crime;
  • 2016 BMW M5.

Jon Politylo, 37, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 3), production of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime, and dangerous driving.
