Drugs, Cash and Weapons seized in Calgary

Calgary… The search of three Calgary homes has led to the seizure of a significant amount of drugs, over $100,000 in cash, and a semi-automatic rifle.

ALERT Calgary’s organized crime and gang team made the seizure with the assistance of Calgary Police Service and RCMP investigators. Three suspected drug dealers were arrested and charged with a total of 17 drug and weapons offences.

Three Calgary homes were searched on May 25, 2017 and the arrests were then made on June 7. An apartment off of 17 Avenue was searched along with two homes in the north Calgary neighbourhoods of Sherwood and Rocky Ridge. The majority of the drugs were found in the Rocky Ridge residence.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $224,000. The drugs seized included:

  • 560 grams of cocaine;
  • 448 grams of a cocaine buffing agent;
  • 704 grams of methamphetamine;
  • 227 grams of heroin;
  • 30 grams of marijuana;
  • 200 grams of cannabis resin;
  • 23 grams of unknown pills;
  • $110,830 cash proceeds of crime.

ALERT also seized a SKS semi-automatic rifle with its serial number removed, ammunition, body armour, and a conductive energy weapon. The firearm will be submitted for ballistics testing to determine if it was used in any other crimes.

Sinbad Rekic, 24, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 3), possession of proceeds of crime (x 2), unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a firearm with the serial number removed.

Billy Koroluk, 23, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 3), possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of body armour.

Dalton Vanderpost, 21, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 3), possession of a controlled substance, and possession of proceeds of crime.
