Drugs and Guns Seized; Calgary Couple Arrested

Calgary… A Calgary couple has been arrested after ALERT seized various amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine, along with three firearms.

The suspects were arrested on August 6, 2020, by ALERT Calgary’s organized crime and gang team. Calgary Police Service helped with the search of homes in the Dover neighbourhood and Beltline area.

ALERT seized $14,000 worth of drugs and cash, including:

“In this instance, ALERT was able to make a quick arrest by leveraging information provided by our team in Medicine Hat,” said Acting Insp. Kristie Verheul, ALERT Calgary.

“The benefit of ALERT is having teams situated across the province, who are intelligence-led and can provide a dedicated approach to organized crime threats.”

Ross Darr, a 28-year-old man from Calgary, is charged with 21 offences related to drugs and firearms.

Michelle McDonnell, a 33-year-old woman from Calgary, is charged with seven gun-related offences.
