Medicine Hat… Three more Medicine Hat residents have been arrested for suspected drug trafficking offences following investigative work by ALERT and Medicine Hat Police Service.
The latest arrests came on September 15 when ALERT Medicine Hat’s organized crime and gang team raided a suspected drug stash house on 13 Street Southeast. The search came on the heels of another drug investigation that occurred earlier that same day on Balmoral Street Southeast and resulted in the arrest of three suspects.
“In this case were we are able to identify additional targets after the first search warrant. Our goal is to maximize intelligence and dismantle the multiple tiers of organized drug trafficking that bring harm to the community,” said S/Sgt. Cory Both.
ALERT believes the group operating out of 13 Street Southeast was supplying the groups targeted earlier in the week. As result of the search at 13 Street Southeast, ALERT seized an estimated $35,000 in drugs and cash:
Justin Lundstrom, 32, Jody Neuhauser, 36, and Kyla Bunzenmeyer 24, have been charged with a total of 13 drug-related charges. Lundstrom was held in custody and is awaiting a court appearance on September 20. Both Neuhauser and Bunzemyer were released on bail and are due back in court on September 29.
Kevin Rabeau, 33, Melissa Artemenko, 33, and Bradley Pletz, 33, were charged previously as result of the search warrant at Balmoral Street.
It has been a busy month of September for the ALERT Medicine Hat team, an integrated unit consisting of Medicine Hat Police and RCMP members. Along with the latest arrests, a total of 13 suspected drug dealers have been arrested and more than $100,000 worth of drugs and cash seized.
