Black Diamond Drug Dealers Arrested in Joint Investigation

Calgary… A joint investigation between the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and RCMP Turner Valley has shut down an area drug trafficking operation that was causing community public safety concerns.

On October 8th, members of ALERT Calgary and RCMP Turner Valley, executed a search warrant at a Black Diamond home that was the center of numerous neighbourhood complaints related to suspected drug activity.

Inside the residence investigators seized over two kilograms of marihuana, a long rifle, $1,000 cash proceeds of crime, and other evidence of drug trafficking.

Two people were arrested as the result of the investigation. Brian Blakeman, 56, and Tammy Forsyth, 44, have been jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a firearm without a license.

“In a small community such as Black Diamond, a drug operation like this can have a large impact. It is in cooperation with our communities, and other agencies, that we can contribute to a safer environment for all,” said Sgt. Paulina Larrey-King of RCMP Turner Valley.
