Edmonton… A 26-year-old Thorsby man is facing 20 child sexual exploitation-related offences following an investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and Thorsby RCMP.
Sean Hudson is accused of committing a long-list of offences against four male victims in four separate instances. All of the alleged offenses involved boys under the age of 14.
Hudson is being held in police custody and is awaiting court on October 22. The charges against him include:
The offences began in November 2009 and Hudson was first arrested and charged by Thorsby RCMP in June 2013. ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit became involved in the investigation in May 2014 when two additional victims were identified. Hudson was most recently arrested on August 19th.
The offences were not random incidents as the victims were known to the offender. Hudson allegedly befriended family members in order to gain access to the children.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims in Alberta or British Columbia. Anyone who may have additional information on this or any other child exploitation offence is encouraged to contact their local police, Crime Stoppers or Cypertip.ca.
ALERT was established and is funded by the Alberta Government and is a compilation of the province’s most sophisticated law enforcement resources committed to tackling serious and organized crime. Nearly 400 municipal police, RCMP, and sheriffs work in ALERT.
