Medicine Hat… A 50-year-old man was arrested in Suffield on March 12th as part of an Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) drug trafficking investigation.
ALERT’s Medicine Hat Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), with the assistant of Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) and Redcliff RCMP members, seized more than $11,000 worth of cocaine from the accused. The drugs were found inside the vehicle after a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Shawn McKinley, a 50-year-old man from Medicine Hat, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was released on bail and is due to appear in Medicine Hat provincial court on April 8th.
CFSEU-Medicine Hat is an ALERT team established and funded by the Alberta Government to bring together the province’s most sophisticated law enforcement resources to tackle serious and organized crime. Nearly 400 municipal police, RCMP, and sheriffs work for ALERT.
