ALERT concludes drug trafficking investigation in Medicine Hat with two arrests

Medicine Hat… ALERT‘s Medicine Hat Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU),  an integrated team of Medicine Hat Police Service and RCMP members, concluded a drug trafficking investigation on June 8 with the arrest of two men.

As a result of this investigation, it was determined that two men were trafficking cocaine in Medicine Hat. Investigators were able to identify two locations from where the men were selling drugs. Search warrants were executed on these two locations, and the two men were taken into custody.

Investigators seized approximately 126 grams of crack cocaine, seven grams of marihuana and $2,500 cash. The total value of all drugs seized is estimated at $25,300, if sold on the street.

Arrested and charged are:

  • A 21-year-old Calgary man is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime, and several counts of breaching judicial conditions.
  • A 20-year-old Calgary man is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of proceeds of crime.

The names have been withheld until they appear before a bail justice later today.
