Red Deer…Two Calgary men have been arrested by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) to conclude a drug trafficking project. ALERT seized upwards of $100,000 worth of drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and cannabis resin.
On December 19th, ALERT’s Red Deer Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), with assistance from RCMP general duty and canine members, executed search warrants at an apartment complex and hotel suite in Red Deer.
CFSEU-Red Deer members seized nearly a kilogram of cocaine, quantities of methamphetamine and cannabis resin, and well over one kilogram of an unidentified substance believed to be a cutting agent. A taser and brass knuckles were also seized in the search.
“Our investigation revealed that these two men were attempting to move large volumes of cocaine in this community. Based on our information we were able to act fast and make an arrest,” said Sgt. Gerald Ouellet.
Divahn Denrick Matthie, 25 years old, and Tyler Dwayne Jameson, 25 years old, were both arrested without incident and face six drug and weapons related charges each. The charges include:
