Lloydminster… Two suspected drug dealers were arrested following a short-term investigation in Lloydminster. ALERT seized cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and cash.
ALERT Lloydminster’s organized crime and gang team made the arrests and drug seizure on September 1, 2021. Lloydminster RCMP also helped with the execution of a search warrant at a local residence, where the majority of the drugs were seized.
ALERT seized 173 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and $7,340 cash. ALERT alleges the two suspects were actively involved in drug trafficking within the region and their market extended into Saskatchewan.
Travis Cromartie, 36, and Katherine Cromartie, 57, were jointly charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
“ALERT has long recognized the impact of organized crime in Lloydminster region and its position as a transitory route for drug smuggling between provinces. ALERT will bring specialized tools and resources to Lloydminster, and conduct targeted investigations related to drug trafficking, gangs and firearms offences,” said Supt. Dwayne Lakusta, ALERT CEO.
ALERT expanded to Lloydminster in November 2020. The specialized team will help serve a larger regional footprint and encompass communities such as Cold Lake, Bonnyville, St. Paul, Saddle Lake First Nation, Wainright, and Vermillion.
