Calgary… Four homes in Cochrane were searched as part of an ALERT drug trafficking investigation that was completed in conjunction with RCMP Cochrane members.
ALERT’s Calgary organized crime and gang team carried out the search warrants on September 1. Three suspects were taken into custody without incident and drugs, guns, and cash were seized. ALERT is an integrated team consisting of Calgary Police Service and RCMP members and is funded by the Alberta Government.
Parker Burrow, 29, Jared Burrow, 25, and Jak Burchell, 26, were charged with drug related offences. ALERT began investigating the accused in June 2016 after receiving information from RCMP detachment members on their suspected drug trafficking activities.
“Cochrane is a safe community and we welcome the collaboration with ALERT to stamp out threats to public safety, such as drug trafficking,” said S/Sgt. Chad Fournier, RCMP Cochrane.
ALERT is still finalizing the total amounts and weights of drugs seized. Cocaine was seized alongside evidence consistent with drug trafficking, including packaging materials, scoresheets, scales, and a number of cell phones. Two firearms were also seized alongside a large amount of various rounds of ammunition at another residence.
ALERT’s investigation remains on-going and additional charges are being contemplated.
