Edmonton… A 35-year-old Edmonton man has been charged with child luring and child pornography offences following a joint investigation between ALERT Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit and the Edmonton Police Service Child Protection Section.
Heman Palani was arrested on April 23, 2025 after allegedly luring two Edmonton youths. In one of the cases the girl was sexually assaulted. He had met the victims online and investigators believe there could be more victims.
It is alleged that Palani targeted girls between the ages of 13 to 16 years old via social media where he used several alias’, including ‘hermesthefox’ and ‘FOCKXINDAHENHOUSE’. He also went by ‘Alen Wake’, ‘Hemi’, and ‘Zane’.
ICE is looking to identify and speak with potential victims and witnesses. Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. If you are outside of Edmonton, contact your local police. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-TIPS).
“We encourage complainants who have been victimized by Palani to come forward to police,” said S/Sgt. Jason Singh with the EPS Child Protection Section. “We take these offences extremely seriously, and our partnership between the EPS Child Protection Section and ICE allows us to investigate online child sexual exploitation thoroughly and bring the perpetrators of child abuse to justice.”
“When teens get into trouble online, it is crucial they know to tell someone they can trust. It is our hope that by releasing his photo and the names he used on social media, that other victims will come forward and speak with police,” said Cst. Stephanie Bosch, ALERT ICE.
Both victims are receiving supports from Zebra Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.

He was released from custody on a number of court-imposed conditions, including 24-hour house arrest, and his next scheduled court date is May 27, 2025.
The investigation dates back to October 2024.
