ALERT arrests three in Medicine Hat cocaine trafficking investigation

Medicine Hat… ALERT‘s Medicine Hat Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU),  an integrated team of Medicine Hat Police Service and RCMP members, concluded a short-term drug trafficking investigation this weekend with the arrest of two men and one woman.

In their continuing efforts to crack-down on drug trafficking in the Medicine Hat area, CFSEU investigators executed a search warrant at 130A 2 Street NE where they found 170 grams of crack cocaine and $7,800 cash. The potential street value of the drugs seized is approximately $49,300.

Arrested and charged are:

  • Maluk Kur, age 27, male, of no fixed address, with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of breaching a recognizance, and possession of the proceeds of crime;
  • Mabiei Yuot, age 25, male, of no fixed address, with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of breach of probation;
  • Sherri Ann King, age 32, female, Medicine Hat resident, with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Kur and Yuot remain in custody while they await their next court appearance. King was released from custody. All three will appear in court again on September 25.

CFSEU-Medicine Hat is an ALERT team established and funded by the Government of Alberta to bring together the province’s most sophisticated law enforcement resources and tools to combat organized crime.  Over 400 municipal police, RCMP, and sheriffs work for ALERT.
